March 22, 2017
We are as excited about the start of our 2017 golf season as we have ever been. In addition to our Lakewood Ladies events and our regular skins games, there are summer and fall kids clinics to look forward to, Friday Nine and Wine, and of course our Wednesday point quota game that EVERYONE is encouraged to attend.
In our continued commitment to our environment and our community, we have been busy this winter. Those of you who took advantage of the great skiing on our trails should have noticed the clearing of some trees around the sixth green and seventh tee. This will allow for longer sun exposure in the evenings, and greater air movement all day long, reducing the need for pesticides. This winter we also held a JBF sponsored event to promote healthy outdoor activities for kids and adults in our community. The Jim Browne Foundation also sponsored the inaugural year of an after school ski group. It is exciting to see these programs grow and we look forward to their continued future success. We’d like to thank The Masterman Agency for sponsoring the port-a-potty at the trailhead of the trails. If you or your business would like to support the work of the Jim Browne Foundation there are other sponsorship opportunities throughout the golf season and beyond. Feel free to speak with Margi anytime.
The constant snow cover this winter has been great for the greens and we are expecting very little, if any, winterkill. This will make for some great spring golf! We are also excited to have the driving range up and running full steam this year. Again, we cannot wait to see you all and hope everyone is in good heath, and ready for a great 2017 golf season! Check our Facebook page for more information and event updates or ask in the clubhouse.
